Emily  Allchurch created  If You Lived Here: Homage  to Soane  especially for  our  Artists for Pitzhanger  initiative.  It reworks the section featuring  Pitzhanger  Manor from her bravura artwork  Grand Tour: In Search of Soane (after Gandy) (2012), presenting Sir John Soane's extant architectural projects as though models in a room, which was originally created for the exhibition ‘Sense of Soane’ at  Pitzhanger  Manor & Gallery, before its restoration in 2015. Since then  Grand Tour: In Search of Soane  has shown at, among other places, the RA Summer Exhibition (2013) and her solo exhibition ‘Visions of Architectural Fancy’ at the Sir John Soane Museum in 2018.

Allchurch considers her homages to Sir John Soane as two of her most important works, instigating her further exploration into the architectural capriccio.
